Is there a society in a golden age today? For this Honors
assessment, your task is to research a modern society (ex. country or group of
countries) that you think is in its “golden age.” Collect evidence to
support your case.
Steps:
Select a
modern society (ex. a country or group of countries) that you consider to
be in its “golden age.”
Find at least one piece of evidence from
each of the following categories to prove that your selected society
is in its golden age (at least five pieces of evidence):

artistic, architectural, and/or intellectual
achievements
○
medical, technological, and/or scientific
contributions
○
economics (business, employment, and trade)
○
politics and government
○ social
developments and/or humanitarian efforts
Evidence can include, but is not limited to, images, sound
files, and text excerpts. Make sure to use at least three different sources and
use MLA format to cite each source.
Write a 4–6 paragraph
essay that explains why you think the society is in its “golden age.”
Include descriptions and details about each piece of evidence you found. Be
sure to clearly explain how each piece of evidence helps prove that the society
you selected is in its golden age.
