The haves and the have nots have been woven into American society for centuries and philanthropy has been the fabric in creating classism in America. Do philanthropic dollars create classism and dictate how the other half lives? The history of classism in philanthropy shows that the top percentage of Americans dictate how money is allocated to help those who are less fortunate but rather than assisting with economic and social change, their lack of research in areas to fund is causing more damage. What can be done to change that social divide?
