Critical review protocol or plan development

Students are to select a topic of
interest, relevant to their professional practice or study. Concentrate on
forming qualitative research questions which return qualitative and mixed
methods studies, and avoid seeking out studies which
use inferential statistical tests (unless you know how to create a forest plot,
and can explain the difference between Poisson and Logistic Regression, for
example, or the use of Odds Ratio versus Risk Ratio), and instead focus on
experiences and feedback.
You will not be doing a Systematic Review
(must have more than one author for ‘peer review’ element) and not a Scoping
Review (it prohibits the critical appraisal/synthesis/thematic analysis steps,
thus you cannot answer the marking rubric later).
Please see attachments to the Assignment 1
section that you may find helpful: A recommended format for structuring
Assignment 1 and Assignment 1 marking guides. Submit a Word document for your
assignment.
View in e-readings Week 3 an example of a
published qualitative protocol. Note that Systematic Reviews and Literature
Reviews are NOT primary literature.
In addition, included is an example of
Assignment 1 by a past student, but you can also look at the exemplars for
assignment 4 for better examples. Please note that the student examples
all contain different headings, posses flaws, and are not perfect assignments;
however, they may be useful as a guide. You only need to look at the opening
sections, question, and search methods of any assignment 2 or 4 examples for
examples of what is required of this assignment.
