Write a paper analyzing the roles of gender in fairytales.
Select two stories from the Week 4 readings to use in your analysis.
Identify the roles of the primary male and female characters in your selected stories.
Analyze how the characters do or do not conform to traditional gender roles using concrete examples from the stories. Consider the following questions in your analysis:
If the story took place in our world, would life be different for the women? Explain why or why not. How would this affect their role in their story?
Would the male characters’ roles in the modern world differ from their roles in the original story? Explain how.
Organize your paper using a traditional essay format with a clear introductory paragraph, body paragraphs based on the discussion points, and a conclusion paragraph.
Support your analysis with examples from the stories you selected and at least two outside sources.
Format your paper according to APA or MLA standards, as directed by your instructor.
