Write a word standard literary analysis that explains your interpretation of a short story on this course’s reading list. Use the below questions to frame your analysis. Your paper must include at least one primary source (the story or novel you are analyzing) and at least four secondary sources (sources written about the story you are analyzing). There are many stereotypes in these stories that deal specifically with a gender issues. For example, many women and men are portrayed as insane or flawed if they do not follow social norms. Choose a main character and expose how the author uses various methods to characterize him or her. How do the narrator’s voice, dialogue, actions, interactions, setting, author’s style, and even theme help develop that character? What role does gender play in shaping the character’s fate, actions, and persona? Be sure to use both a primary source and secondary sources in your analysis.
