Hi Class,
In what ways have urban legends adapted over time, both in terms of the content of urban legends and the way in which the spread over time?
An urban legened is told over a period of time and urban legends adapted to additional facts and details that were passed on down and fabricated from generation to generation. Secondhand accounts paired with re-telling of stories often has details added into the recount of the story and or events that occurred. Years ago, the stories of urban legends were passed by simple storytelling, present day there is not shortage or online myths, stories and urban legends with additional details over the years.
What urban legends, folklore, or scary supernatural tales do you remember hearing about as a child?
When I was a child the scary supernatural tale that I remember is Bloody Mary and Candy Man
What kinds of urban legends have you encountered as an adult?
The urban legends I encountered as an adult is Rose Red.
What strong emotions are evoked by these tales?
The strong emotions that are evoked by these tales is fear.
Are there elements to these stories that deal with death and survival or both?
Yes, the elements of the stories deal with both survival and fear.
What do you think urban legends will look like in the future?
I have no idea how they would look in the future but as far as I know some still remain to be told.
