What did you think of what our text authors had to say about writing effective introductions and conclusions?

Objectives:
In order to really digest concepts, one needs to write down one’s reaction typically. The purpose of this “Reflection” assignment is to help you solidify your understanding of the concepts Elizabeth McMahon and Robert Funk delineated in pp. 17-29 of the text.
Instructions:
To write your one to two-page reflection (approximately 500 words), consider the following:
How do the authors’ comments on building an effective argument strike you? Do you agree or disagree with what they suggest? Why or why not?
What did you think of what our text authors had to say about writing effective introductions and conclusions? Do you plan to incorporate any of their suggestions into your own writing? Why or why not?
What did you think of the authors’ comments in the margin of the student model paper? Did you agree or disagree with the commentary, in general? Would you have made different comments? What about the layout of the sample model paper? Is it how you usually format your essays?
