You need to select a topic of interest to focus on for this assignment & Assignment 3. For the first of these assignments, due this week, you need to be able to clearly state a research question or research issue of interest in one sentence or question. This topic should be both limited enough in scope so that you are able to find specific research on it but one that is not so limited that you can’t find anything on it. It also must be in social science (so not include variables that are biological or other non-social science variables). The following are a couple of examples of the kinds of topics you might consider: Does gender of defendant have an impact on criminal case outcomes? What attitudes do members of the public hold about national health care? What factors play a role in girls’ and/or young women’s decision to join gangs? Are families who live in suburbs more or less content than those who live in urban environments?
