Quantitative
analysis
Secondly, based on the all the graphs in the excel spread sheet,
please examine, and perform a Quantitative analysis of the data. Useful to
identify trends and patterns of the cases. Some of the questions you could
consider is
·
What percentage of the accidents involved
males?
·
What percentage of the accidents are within a
certain age range?
·
What percentage of the accidents involved a
particular trade?
·
What percentage of the accidents involved a
particular type of industry did the industry occur?
·
What percentage of the accidents resulted in a
fatal injury v Hospitalisation?
·
What type of
injury occurred?
·
What different
heights the accidents occurred?

***Example of
wording***
The analysed cases (see Appendix
A1) confirmed that males (99%) are overwhelmingly more likely to be involved in
FFH accidents, with men aged between 30-39 years (29%) and 50-59 years (17%)
more likely to be involved in FFH accidents. The trades found to be most
involved in FFH accidents were labourers (17%), carpenters (12%), roofers (11%)
and general contractors (10%). These figures are consistent with the extensive
research undertaken by Dumrak et al. (2013), which found that the highest
number of serious injuries occurs within the 40-49 age group and the highest
number of fatalities occurs within the 50-59 age group. Nadhim et al. (2016)
also found that manual labourers, carpenters and roofers are the most likely to
suffer FFH accidents.
