In this unit, you learned about international trade, with a focus on how a nation can regulate trade by using tariffs and quotas, and how concepts of absolute and comparative advantages can hurt some nations, but help others. You also learned about developing countries and the stages of development, as a developing nation begins to grow. Finally, you learned about combining of economic, political, and cultural systems throughout the world—globalization–and how this can help many countries, but also hurt others. You also learned about entrepreneurs.
Many entrepreneurs find themselves wearing the hat of a philanthropist. A philanthropist is one who donates time, money, experience, skill, and/or talent to make a better world. For this assignment, you will research a philanthropist and create a presentation, explaining how that individual used their own resources to create change across the globe.

Your six-slide presentation will consist of the following (in the exact order as listed below):
Slide 1: Cover Slide, including the name of your philanthropist, as well as your name and heading information. Include a photo of the philanthropist you’ve chosen on this slide.
Slide 2: Explain the difference between a philanthropist and an entrepreneur.
Slide 3: Introduce your chosen philanthropist. Give specifics regarding the following: Where they were born, where they grew up, where they went to college (if they went to college), and other personal information, etc. This information should be in bullet-point. This slide should also include at least one visual ai and you must have at least five bullet points that each contain different information.
Slide 4: Explain how your philanthropist acquired their money. This can be through inheritance, through entrepreneurship, through simply saving, etc. Be specific and respond in not less than 100 words. Include at least one visual aid on this slide.
Slide 5: Provide the name of the organization or business that your philanthropist owns/runs (some philanthropists have several interests…just choose one). Explain how your philanthropist helps or helped to change the world through their organization. You should also identify the worldly issue or problem that your philanthropist helped with (how does their organization help to make the world better). Most organizations and businesses have a symbol to represent them (like McDonald’s and the golden arches).
