Healthcare organizations rely on data to evaluate their
performance and goals. Selecting the appropriate data that is relevant to
the community and the organization is essential. For this week’s discussion,
in the scenario below there are three critical questions that need to be
addressed.
Selecting Relevant Data for Transparency
Peggy has been appointed by the marketing
committee to create a dashboard for the e-Hospital website. The task is to showcase
relevant hospital information that will influence potential patients to select
e-Hospital for their healthcare needs. Peggy will also select social media
sites that are appropriate to showcase the information. The committee has
developed a plan to accomplish the task that includes determining the data
needed, collecting the data, and summarizing and posting the data.
The committee selected the following data for
publishing on the website and social media sites. This includes hospital
emergency room wait times, patient satisfaction scores, infection rates
comparing the scores with other local hospitals, and national ratings. In
finding the national averages Peggy will research websites to support the
selected categories.
