1. 1500 word minimum (not including your works cited)
2. MLA formatted, 12 point double spaced essay with an MLA header
3. Works Cited in MLA
4. A minimum of three sources from credible sources. You may use sources we studied in the unit, but I encourage you to research and find new sources that directly relate to your argument.
5. Use direct quote, paraphrase, and summary. (use MLA handout and www.owl@purdue.edu) as a guide)

To learn how to gather, evaluate and connecting (synthesizing) various sources of information to create your own unique perspective on a subject.
You will be writing an essay over the unit’s theme, Class in America. Consider the articles we have read, our class discussions and the documentary, Class Divide when determining what angle you want to take in your essay. You will not be recycling one of the arguments from the sources, instead, you will be taking a new look at the topic and giving your readers something different to consider about the class in America.
