and “Faith is Not,” from Salvation by Allegiance Alone by Matthew Bates.

pages 8-10 in Writing Theologically. Justify your decision.
● Explain how you think these are or are not “academic” or “theological” writing.
● Decide which of the two essays displays better writing and explain why (can NOT give
the reason that you just like reading it more, or that it is easier to read). Ideally, use
content from Writing Theologically to help give you the language and categories to
identify why you think one is better writing than the other.
