What to read to learn about parenting styles? If you are not familiar with parenting styles, please do not search the web for thousands of articles, but use the material I have provided you in the assignment. It will save you time!
Writing the essay: Once you have found an essay with one or more easy-to identify parenting styles, please sit down and write an essay telling the reader what essay you are using and why, so I can grade it. Note: you may analyze your own parenting essay if you wish.
Length of essay: A page or page and a half double-spaced should be fine.
Now go to the web and find an article that supports your choice of a parenting style. Find an article on that type of parenting that you found and show in a sentence or two or a very short quotation how that article supports your choice. Note: Over the decades of research on parenting, different scholars have used several different terms for parenting styles. Especially for permissive parenting, you may find a number of terms. Do not be concerned about that fact; if you need to, use a couple different terms (citing your sources) and point out they refer to the same thing.
Now find a scholarly article on the same type of parenting you chose and explain to the reader of your essay why that second article offers support for the parenting style you chose.
Please incorporate a small amount of material from these two articles to show support for your choice. (Just a sentence or two quoted from each article, or paraphrased from each article.)
Please make a simple reference list at the end of your essay. It should include the two articles I gave you on parenting styles and the two articles you found, one from the web and one from scholary databases. I am not a stickler on APA style but I am very seriously interested that you use quotation marks and write down your sources.
