emailed outline from prof – “Each question I asked in the weekly discussion assignments is a potential essay question. You are welcome to answer any of those questions in a developed essay with at least 3 body paragraphs, and an intro and concluding paragraph for a standard 5-paragraph essay. You can, of course, have more divisions than the standard five if you prefer.
You can answer any one of the weekly discussion questions with your own arguments and developed opinions after considering what else has been written and engaging with material mentioned in discussion and lecture, OR you can also perform a close analysis of any one of the poems mentioned in lectures. If you choose to do a close reading of a poem, I highly suggest you make sure you analyze in detail imagery, form, and characterization in the chosen poem. Please do NOT hand in a summary. And please do not feel the need to cite the lectures.
The word limit and formatting details I posted online already – at least 1500 words and use MLA if you are citing – but as I said previously on Moodle, I am more interested in your analytical skills than your citations or secondary sources, so the latter is not required for this first essay.”
I’ve attached photos of each of the discussion questions as well as lecture outlines and a document with links to some lecture videos.
