Wk 1 Discussion 1: Executive summary – Introduction to Critical Infrastructure and Key Resources (CIKR)
Write a short 6 paragraph executive summary post that includes the following topic flow:
Para 1: Provide an introductory sentence for the exec summary. Introduce the reader to the portion of the National Security Strategy (NSS) that involves CI.
Para 2-4: briefly describe the one of the CIKRs (your choice – consider using the CIKR you chose for your final course capstone paper)
Para 5: Describe DHS/FEMA infrastructure resilience, grants, and sector partnership structure and how that relates to the NSS
Para 6: Concluding paragraph that summarizes the introductory sentence and the conclusions of the body of research.
Note: these are large topics so be succinct at an executive/macro-level – think elevator talk.
Hint: Take a few minutes to review the syllabus and the Course Capstone CI Paper requirement paper due in Week 7. All assignments for this course (Weeks 1-7) will help you build an amazingly robust final project if you decide to do so. It is perfectly acceptable to not opt for this ideology but highly recommended. You may want to choose the CIKR you will use for your final paper.
