The paper should include the following:
Purpose (1/2 p). What motivates you and gives you purpose?
Personal Convictions (1-2 pp). What are your basic beliefs about right and wrong and how we should treat others? What is the basis of your beliefs (reason, science, psychology, religious texts, etc.)? What are your views about the Bible, and should it shape our morality?
Spirituality (1-2 pp). How would you describe your spirituality? How would you describe your relationship with God? How do you engage with him? What do you think about Jesus? What do you think will happen to you in the afterlife?
Religion (1/2-1 p). What is your interest and/or relationship with organized religion? Do you go to church or attend some other kind of formal religious gathering?
Influences (1/2-1 p). What issues, critical moments, or relationships (like family, church/religious group, and/or other significant persons) have shaped your beliefs to make them your own? (These influences can be both positive and negative.)
Hope and the Future (1/2 p). How does Hope fit into your spiritual journey? What do you want to get out of this class?
