How is power communicated through ancient art? How does imagery support and spread authority?
Your essay must include at least three examples of specific works of art to demonstrate your points. Identify each work by title, date, artist, place of origin, and medium (what it is made of). You must cover three periods of art history in your essay through your examples, and they must be selected from the period we have covered in the course. The periods we have covered are: Prehistoric Art, Ancient Near East, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Aegean and Ancient Greece, and Etruscan and Ancient Roman.
The essay is thus designed for a simple five-paragraph format. If you quote from or paraphrase a source, you will need to include proper notation/citation.
