The projects this semester will revolve around analyzing the housing market. The following items will become
important throughout the semester for the various aspects of this analysis. You are to research and write about one
of these items in order to become an expert in that particular sector of the housing market. Your essay (of about 3-4
pages) should be written in LaTeX and it should contain information such as:
•General information that will provide an overview of your topic;
•Factors that directly affect the value/specifics of your topic;
•Average values/information for Lincoln, Lancaster County, and the nation;
•Details that pertain to your topic (for example, the duration of national housing incentives or standard mort-
gages);
•Any other specific information you can find on your topic (for example, the current and past interest rates for
Lincoln, or specific stipulations for homes in new developments)
•Tables and graphs – these are always extremely helpful in conveying information fast. Make sure you specify
the source for them.
Please include all references that you consulted, including websites, newspaper articles, blogs, podcasts, other col-
laborators etc. Make sure you support your statements with facts and/or a mathematical/statistical analysis.
