Peer Response Guidelines: Recall that you were assigned to cover either diagnostic or formative assessments for your initial post. In your substantive responses, you will respond to at least two of your peers who were assigned the opposite topic. For example, if you were assigned diagnostic assessments for your initial post, you would then focus on formative assessments in your peer responses.
As you prepare for your peer responses, imagine that you are a stakeholder reading your peer’s summary of findings about the use of diagnostic or formative assessments. Assess the information in the summary. Ask questions for clarification or additional information about the importance of diagnostic or formative assessments, the data that can be gained from diagnostic or formative assessments, the recommended tool for collecting data from diagnostic or formative assessments, and how the data can be applied to teaching or training practices. Remember that it is okay to ask questions or challenge ideas, as long as you do so kindly.
