The questions are as follows:
1. In Chapter 1, Wollstonecraft discusses the reasons why women are often considered inferior and are treated unfairly in relation to men. What are the reasons she lists, and do you agree or disagree with her position? Do any of these reasons exist today or have we made improvements? Be sure to justify your answer. A good length for this answer is 2-3 paragraphs.
2. In the second chapter, Wollstonecraft discusses why women need a good education in order to be a good wife. What is Wollstonecraft’s recipe for a good wife? In her opinion, what happens when a wife is not fulfilled in a marriage? Do you agree or disagree, and do these sentiments ring true
today? Be sure to explain your ideas. A good answer will be about 2-3 paragraphs long.
3. Does Chapter 3 add any new information or does it belabor the point? Justify your opinion. This will only need to be a paragraph in length.
4. In Chapter 4, we see Wollstonecraft railing against women and their behaviour in addition to men. What does she say about how women behave? Is she angry, embarrassed, or both? Do you think this helps or hurts the feminist movement? Do her sentiments ring true today? Be sure to explain your answer. A good answer will be about 3-4 paragraphs long.
