I am an ICU nurse applying to a graduate level nursing program. This is a personal statement answering the question why I want to be a CRNA. Applicantions to this program are similar to medical school. I believe I have a mostly solid essay but need help making it cohesive, maybe more interesting, and perhaps adding specifc references to DNP essentials/curiculum.
The feedback I have received is that my paper should follow this outline:
“Following my thesis statement:
Topic one: how you’ve improved nursing quality (including examples of your real life that illustrate this) and how you hope to improve nursing quality as a CRNA (including references to the DNP curriculum and how you will learn these things more thoroughly through their curriculum).
Topic two: how you built a culture of safety as an RN (including examples of your real life that illustrate this) and how you hope to continue building a culture of safety as a CRNA (including references to the DNP curriculum and how you will learn these things more thoroughly through their curriculum).
Topic three: How I became interested in this profession, and this university.”
