THE WRITER MUST CHOOSE AN ARTICLE

For this essay, you are to compose a summary and rhetorical analysis of a text of your choice. You
will analyze how rhetorical context and rhetorical appeals work together in a text to
create an argument, as well as the effectiveness of the argument.

For this assignment, you must choose an approved outside text and provide a
rhetorical analysis. The first part of the essay should
concisely summarize the reading. Then,
drawing on rhetorical concepts discussed in your textbook, compose an analysis that examines
the
text’s use of appeals in light of the rhetorical situation the text constructs.
