I’d like to point out that avoiding biases could negatively impact the pursuit of knowledge because we gain insight on a specific topic through different viewpoints. This is apparent in the text (Paper 1 Compare/Contrast Practice Question) from history of the americas when source A says “There were no police around that day as the Police Commissioner Eugene “Bull” Connor, had given officers the day off for Mother’s Day.” and source B says “Bull Connor assured the Klan that it would have fifteen minutes to attack the riders in Alabama before any arrests would be made.” This is meaningful because it shows how different viewpoints can impact what we know about something.
