You have been allocated data on Moodle according to your UID. The file includes randomly
generated data on sunflowers of sunflowers that have been exposed to either a fertiliser
treatment or no fertiliser (control). The following variables were measured for each
sunflower:
• Total height of the sunflower at the end of the experiment (cm).
• Flower diameter at the end of the experiment (cm).
• Percent of total weight that is water (%).
Download the data file, import it into R and complete the assignment.
Question: Does fertilisation improve the growth of sunflowers?
❏ Create specific hypotheses based on the above question and relevant variables (you
should not test a variable that is not expected to change with fertilisation).
❏ Analyse any associations you would expect if this hypothesis were true (do not run
tests that are irrelevant to your hypothesis).
❏ Use ggplot to graph the distribution and central tendency of variables you use in your
analysis in a clean and clear format.
