The questions in Assignment 2 relate most directly to chapter 7, ‘Bayes’ Theorem and Hypothesis Testing’. In addition to this, it would also be useful to review chapter 4, ‘Explanation and Confirmation’, as it is here that concepts such as hypotheses, confirmation and evidence are first introduced.
Some of the questions in this assignment ask you to decide on the probability for different situations. Unless there are further restrictions indicated in the question, you are free to write whatever value you think seems reasonable.
All probabilities you write must be on a decimal scale, with 0 being the lowest possible value, and 1 being the highest possible value.
