Entrepreneurship, small business and new venture creation

This project needs to be based on 10 credible research sources including the given news article:

The Canadian Federation of Independent Business: “Sharply rising business logistics worries could soon mean higher prices, but governments can help”
The URL link: https://www.newswire.ca/news-releases/sharply-rising-business-logistics-worries-could-soon-mean-higher-prices-but-governments-can-help-802942186.html

The project has two separate documents – rough draft (300 words) and final written part (1500 words). This is how the complete project should look like:

Rough Draft: (300 words)
A complete rough draft of your project must be submitted to the appropriate
Brightspace drop box by the due date given above. At this point, it is expected that you
have all the content you will be using in the report. It needs to be in the 4 sections (with
titles) stated below. You will not be marked on professionalism (spelling, grammar, etc.)
and do not need to have a title page. Your citations and endnotes should be in place but
do not yet need to be formatted to proper Chicago style. It is also okay to go over the
1500 words limit.

Final Written Report: (1500 words)

The structure of the report and the evaluation criteria will be as follows (you
must use these 4 headingstitles to the minimum and other headers as needed
in the report to facilitate readers’ understanding of this report):
1. OVERVIEW – Topic overview and why you chose the topic. (10 marks)
Evaluation Criteria – Section provides an excellent overview of
information in the report and the piece of news that you used. Clearly
identifies the report purpose (identify the question you are trying to
answer). Provides direction on the key areas of focus within the report
and clearly explains the logic for this focus (so explains why you chose
these areas of focus).

2. RESEARCH & ANALYSIS – What you found in your research and analysis. (50
marks)

Evaluation Criteria – Section discusses the key findings of your research
efforts (properly cited both in text and end notes) on the topic, and then
effectively identifies and analyzes key factors and the impact to Canadian
business. Ideas are developed and supported with enough detail to
achieve the intended purpose of the communication. I’m looking for
demonstrated ability to incorporate course content (be sure to cite our
text book) where applicable and to synthesize ideas. You MUST provide
a range of diverse opinions on your chosen topic.
This is a research-based report so all of your key points must be backed
with proof. You can state what you conclude based on your research but
it must be logically supported by solid and balanced facts. Avoid making
unsupported assumptions.
Facts will include information gathered by reputable sources (not
Wikipedia). You will use the opinions of experts but all biased (one
sided) opinions and therefore, you should balance the content with
counter arguments from other experts. These facts and expert opinions
must be properly cited in your report so that they can easily be verified.
Further, your analysis of the different key points would contribute to
half of the marks.
An appendix is not required but if you have done a detailed analysis
(such as a SWOT or PEST) then it would be a good idea to include this in
the appendix.
Note: Content in the Appendix won’t be considered as
part of your final word count

3. CONCLUSION – Your conclusions. (20 marks)

Evaluation Criteria – Conclusion demonstrates logical and well supported
consolidation and synthesis of facts and information. You should also
include your group’s opinions on the topic and issues with reasonings, i.e.
your final advice to my company.
Note: At the end of the conclusion, please state your total word count
for the Overview, R&A, and Conclusion sections of the report.

4. Endnotes (10 marks):

Use endnotes at the end of your report. You will lose marks for poor
choice or research sources andor improper citations. Aim for a
minimum of 10 credible research sources (this should include the
textbook and the original news article you are basing your paper on). You must use relevant, current (within the last two years preferred), and
credible sources for your researched information (i.e. no Wikipedia).
Facts and statements that have not been properly cited (using
endnotes) and cannot be verified will be considered plagiarism.
Plagiarism will result in an automatic mark of 0% on this assignment for
all team members and further possible disciplinary action.

Professionalism – (10 marks):

Evaluation Criteria – Report has a professional appearance, effectively
uses conventions of language and numerical accuracy. Correct use of
spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure. Information flows logically
and excellent use of transitions and consolidations. The report must be
clearly, concisely, and logically written and contain a variety of
references. Use the Chicago Style of citation, and please use the
endnote format. The use of sufficient headers and sub-headers are
expected.

Submission file format: Word document format for written report and
PPT for PowerPoint file.

The written report content should be 1500 words (no less than 1400 words); be
single spaced, Arial or Calibri, font 11. An appendix is not required but if you
have one, it will not count toward the page limit. Please state your final word
count after your conclusion.
