ABCDE plot

Write a short story of 2-3 pages (500-750 words – double spaced) that follows the ABDCE plot model. Now it’s your turn to write fiction. Here is a break-down of that structure one more time:
A: Action. Begin with something happening. Toss your reader right in the middle of a scene.
B: Background. Go into some background as to why that A-for-action took place.
D: Development. Build the story and develop the characters around some kind of conflict. How do the characters try to overcome the conflict?
C: Climax. This is the most exciting part because all the pieces come together, and it leaves at least one of the characters dramatically changed.
E: Ending. Leave no unanswered questions. Tie up the loose ends. Send the reader off with something to think about with a great final line.
