Change isn’t easy. If it were, we wouldn’t need an entire course devoted to helping us change successfully.
There is a laundry list of reasons that our change efforts may not be successful. The article we focus on this week helps us explore one
key reason some people may dig in their heels and refuse to embrace change

Here are three statements for your consideration.
Men are more likely to resist change than women.
Women communicate better than men.
Older workers are more likely to resist change than younger workers.
Respond to the statements above, sharing your agreement or disagreement and why.

I agree that men are more likely to resist change than women. Author Wallace from CNN describes, “older men may also be more hesitant to embrace change because they are having a harder time moving into their middle of life and beyond (Wallace, 2015).”
I also agree that women communicate better than men. Author Cameron from The Guardian explains that women communicate better, “…because of the way their brains are wired. The female brain excels in verbal tasks…. Women like to talk; men prefer actions to words (Cameron, 2007).”
Lastly, I disagree that older workers are more likely to resist change than younger workers. Author Brennan from Forbes details how the current change in the workforce due to Covid has caused many Millennials to quit their jobs due to the significant changes in work demand. “the pandemic was a ‘great awakening’ for many people around the world. Something else happened in that timeframe: America’s labor force stopped. According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, 2021 was known as the Great Resignation because, ‘more than 47 million workers quit their jobs. Millennials and Gen-Z are not the only leading way in this demand for improved company culture and personal wellbeing but are also expecting more out of their companies when it comes to social responsibility. They want to work for and with companies that truly
care about the impact they’re making on societal issues and the environment (Brennan, 2022).” Millennials are more likely to silently quit
their jobs due to perceived unnecessary changes or their disapproval of changes in business practices.

Good afternoon class,
Men are more likely to resist change than women, women communicate better, and older workers are more likely to resist change than younger workers.
I can relate to these comments women ask for directions and men will drive around and get lost
instead of asking. I have worked with many older workers, and they often do not want to get out of their comfort zone to learn new things and some are afraid of technology – learning a new system. I think both men and women can resist change for many different reasons.
Men may not want to change because “life change is a constant flow of beginning and a end”. Humans in general do not like change most resist
change and will fight for the status quo of our lives. I thought this was interesting “The reason why change is so hard id that you’re up
against mental biases that reinforce consistency.” I read the article written by Rediff that women attend to let everyone have a chance to air their views. Women communication better then men but men are better at brainstorming and problem solving.
