Japanese fashion culture

This assignment is not a formal essay, so you don’t need to write in a formal format, just write the answer to the questions you chose.
Please use the quotes from the articles I uploaded.
Please choose 2 questions to answer (200 words for each answer)
1) Chose 1-3 images from FRUITS magazine and analyze how the space of the street has transcended the notion of exhibition. Discuss the particular images in terms of how clothing/fashion situates the individual. If you can read Japanese, engaged with the descriptive text included. Use specific quotes from this week’s readings in your response.
2) In the film Kamikaze Girls, how are the various spaces of Osaka, Ibaragi, and Tokyo used as a backdrop for the story. In particular, how do locales, fashion, and aesthetic taste interact in the story? Choose a specific scene or two and discuss. Use specific quotes from this week’s readings in your response.
3) How does Lolita style engage with concepts of gender, power, and historical values in Japanese society? There is no one answer, rather, choose a particular scene or passage from the week’s assigned works to discuss the possible ways that this fashion engages with concepts of the individual and their relationship to others. Use specific quotes from this week’s readings in your response.
4) In Wim Wender’s film Notebooks on Cities and Clothes, how does the city figure into the work of Yohji Yamamoto? In comparison to existing Western fashion centered in NYC and Paris, how did Yamamoto and Rei Kawakubo’s fashion reshape the vocabulary of the fashion arts? Use specific quotes from this week’s readings in your response.
5) Discuss the relationship between high fashion (runway, haute couture) and low fashion (street wear, “urban”) and how Japanese fashion helped create shifts and changes in this relationship. Use specific quotes from this week’s readings in your response.

Thank you!!!
