The Effects of adopting common core standards

Your assignment this week is to write a four to five page literature review. Writing a literature review, like writing in APA style, is a new way of writing for most people. It can be like learning a new language. Different rules apply. Things like “person” – (first person – “I”), second person (you), third person – “According to Jones”(2016) matter. The reason for the “person” issue is that the literature review is exactly that – a review of what others have written on the topic of interest to the author. The author of the review is constructing an argument/point of view using the work of others as the building blocks for the argument/point of view. Normally, using “I”, “I think” or “in my experience” are words that indicate an individual’s thoughts, not what the literature has to say on a topic.

For this case study, I took the postion as being FOR the adoption of Common CCore Standards to all states. The articles chosen should align with that position.
