Length: At least 1,000 words. No more than 3,000 words.
Requirements: (1) have a clear title; (2) have a clear argument (“argument” refers to the main idea of an essay or a book, which in most cases is one to two sentences long); (3) well supported by what you’ve learned so far in HIST137, in particular the assigned readings and lectures.
Format: 12 size, Times New Roman font; 1 inches margins; double-spaced; typed in Microsoft Word (or its Apple equivalent); submitted to Canvas in .doc or PDF format only.
No requirements on footnotes/endnotes; you may use them or not; if you use footnotes/endnotes, you may follow the format (for the format, you may read pp. 104-120 of the file entitled “Quoting and Documenting Sources Mary L. Rampolla-2007” in folder “Files” on HIST137 Canvas site).
Due: 6:00 p.m. on Friday Oct. 21. Late submission will be downgraded (for example, from B to C, from C to D).
