Requirements
The purpose of the full sentence outline is to develop the content of your speech. To
develop your outline, use the sample posted on Brightspace as a guide. Your outline:
1. Must use correct outlining symbols.
2. Must be indented properly.
3. Each idea must have a 3–5-word label – in bold.
4. Introduction and conclusion must include all appropriate elements – in bold.
5. Must be edited for clarity – minimal typos.
Please note: You may not cut and paste the body of the sample outline (it’s a 30-point
deduction if you do) and use it as your own. Inevitably, this results in weak content and
lower grades. Moreover, it is a form of plagiarism. You may, however cut and paste the
format for the introduction and conclusion, but only that.
