attention. Discuss the study and evaluate it for
strengths and weaknesses. Did the scientists “answer
the question” they sought out to address?
2) Find a recent article in a scientific journal. Evaluate
their methods and findings. Why is this work
important (or is it not)?
3) Find an example of pseudo science in psychology. Is
there some article that makes a grand claim that isn’t
supported by the actual science? Evaluate the work
and tell me why we shouldn’t believe it (yet).
4) Find a psychological effect or result that is
counterintuitive, aka one that goes against common
sense. Evaluate the work and discuss why our
common sense was wrong.
5) Pick a topic in psychology and write about it.
