How do they advertise? Do they use advertising in their video play for other products? If so, why do you think they do this? If not, should they and why?
Don’t forget the basics of Optimizing a YouTube video:
Keywords– What would target market enter into a Google or YouTube search?
Titles- Should immediately entice users to watch the video. Consider using the word “video” in the title to generate outside traffic. When promoting products or services, include the product in the title of the video.
Descriptions- in 5,000 characters or less, provide a clear overview of what the video is about.
Transcripts and Closed Captions- YouTube makes it very simple to add closed captions and transcripts to videos directly within their video editor.
Tags- Ensure that videos appear in the “related” video section of YouTube
Thumbnails– the first thing that catches the eye of potential viewers. Show students Jamie Olivier’s Food Tube (Links to an external site.)adds company branding to each thumbnail for brand awareness and consistency
YouTube Cards- can point viewers to other videos, channels, a company website and run polls.
YouTube end screens- shown during the last 5-20 seconds of a video. Directs viewers to a brands content, channel or website and encourage viewers to continue engaging with the brand or content. Play
