The current COVID-19 crisis has presented the public with unprecedented insight into the operational challenges our healthcare systems face when dealing with a global pandemic. While debates will continue about the nature and extent of preventable errors, we can see how the 3 components of quality in healthcare – structure, process, and outcomes – have been tested like never before.
