Gerontological social work “interview”

The purpose of this interview and agency visit is to gain an understanding of the role and contribution of gerontological social work practitioners as well as the ethical and practice challenges they face and how they are addressed.

Gather information on the following:
Background information on CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Hopsital in Tyler, Texas (type of setting, services provided, location, cost/eligibility for services, number of persons served by this agency).
Discuss one peer-reviewed article about the role of the social worker and/or social services in this setting (hospital setting).
The social worker perspectives on and experiences with:
– The social worker’s current role in relation to clients and family members
– Whether the social worker feels s/he should play a different role and, if so, what that role would be
-The social worker’s role in assessing and evaluating the client and family member’s issues and needs
-The role of culture and social justice in assessing, evaluating and meeting client and family member’s issues and needs
-The social worker’s current role in relation to fellow team members
-Practice and ethical challenges faced by the social worker in relation to working with clients and fellow team members
-How the social worker assesses for signs of elder abuse/neglect as well as reporting elder abuse/neglect
-The social worker’s knowledge about other direct service/macro setting in which gerontological social work is practice and whether or not they interface with those social workers as part of their current role.

Then, type the results of your interview including your own response to what you learned as a result of completing this assignment.

Papers should be 4-5 pages, double spaced, APA, narrative (e.g. non-bullet point) style. The title page does not count toward the page limit. Use 12-point font, Times New Roman.
You must have a sub-heading for each number and/or bullet point listed in the tasks to complete.
