Your answer should make approximately 2 pages, double-spaced.
The assignment requires you to develop a personal argument to answer your chosen question. There is not a right or wrong answer.
The objectives are
1) to demonstrate your ability to develop and structure an essay in your own words, and
2) to demonstrate your understanding of the materials under study in the course. Both these elements will be taken into consideration when marking your answer.
A good way to structure your answer is to start by writing down your central argument in response to the essay question in the first paragraph, and then develop that argument in the rest of your answer.
Given the short length of the assignment, students are not expected to use quotations in their answer. A bibliography is not required for the midterm test. If you included one anyway, it’s not a problem.
The length of the answer should be approximately 2 pages, double-spaced. Avoid excessively long and excessively short answers, as they would both deviate from expectations.
