You will begin this assignment by reading and annotating your peer’s paper and identifying their position, purpose, and support. You will then construct a response to your peer. A response is a reaction to a specific aspect of their paper. You may, for example, agree or disagree with their position. You may wish to comment upon their use of support.
Your final response paper will include a clear thesis statement that explains your purpose for writing the response paper and your position. You will also include evidence from your peer’s paper and explain how that evidence supports your position.
Criteria for Success (the final product)
Your finished product will be a polished 2-4pg, MLA formatted paper. You will also include (1) your response to your peer, (2) a reader’s guide letter which explains how you applied a revision strategy to strengthen your writing, and how you plan to incorporated this information/strategy into your own work, (3) your peers paper with your edits on it (not included in the word count).
A superior assignment will be creative in its presentation and carefully provide specific detailed examples which also attend to grammar and style. A superior assignment will also utilize MLA formatting guidelines.
