Consider this comparison: how does the gender of each artist either permit or complicate their access to these spheres? Relate the spaces (physical and psychological) back to our reading by Pollock: how are masculinity and femininity either reinforced or challenged? Who do you believe was the intended audience for these images? How do they reflect an increasingly modern art movement, in an increasingly modern city? You may also consider notions of the gaze. Responses should be approximately three substantive paragraphs (or one page), though you may have more to discuss so please feel free to go beyond that suggested minimum.
