The Code of Ethics Assignment is a 3-7-page
written submission addressing ethical decisions related to a specific case
study.
Objectives:

8. Create an action plan related to an ethical
decision making case study
Instructions:

Review the case
studies following these instructions.

Choose one case
studies to analyze and include in the written submission.
·
Utilize the
“Framework for Ethical Decision Making” tool to breakdown and explain your
thought process in implementing critical thinking and ethical decision making
for the case study. (You will not need
to complete step 8 in the tool since it addresses outcomes, but be aware that
assessing effectiveness and outcomes is a component of ethical decision
making).
·
Answer the
questions listed from the case study and include rationale in the written
submission.
·
Analyze your personal
and professional values, and the values of others as they relate to the
situation.
·
Determine the
best course of action based on your professional assessment as a nurse.
The written assignment will contain the
following:
Introduction:

Provides
foundational information on ethical decision making, a clear, concise
explanation of the purpose and content of the paper including relevance that
ethical decision making has on the profession of nursing. Contains thesis statement. (After a brief introduction of your topic,
you state your point of view on the topic directly and often in one sentence.
This sentence is the thesis statement, and it serves as a summary of the points
you’ll make in the rest of your paper).
