Define what the company’s business objectives are and their strategy to achieve those objectives? How are the objectives measured?

For this assignment, you are to “critically
evaluate” the business strategies of the individual/ company in the report you
will be submitting for this course. Please be respectful of the individual you are
interviewing regarding their time and experience in the business field. It is
imperative that when scheduling the interview that you convey this is for a
class assignment in your Introduction to Business course. Suggestions for
people to interview: managers at work, business owners, marketing managers or
even staff/ faculty at Northampton Community College who currently have or have
had business management experience.

Topics to cover in your interview
and address in your business report by which you will be assessed:

1. Name of the company, location and type of business it operates in
(products/services sold)
2. Define what the company’s business objectives are and their strategy to
achieve those objectives? How are the objectives measured?
3. Explain how the company/ manager motivates employees? ( xplore theories
of motivation from your text)
4. What is their marketing strategy? (explore the 4 P’s of Marketing from
your text with example of promotion)
5. What is their financial strategy?
6. How does company facilitate an ethical environment and diversity, equity
and inclusion?
7. How has the current economic situation due to COVID-19 affected the business?
Has the company strategy changed since the economic recession? Explain why or
why not.
8. Relate the above questions to your coursework including theories and
concepts learned in the text.

When writing
your Business Report, be sure to “critically evaluate” the individual’s answers
to the topics listed above. Relate the answers to the theories/ concepts
discussed in the book. For instance, if the manager suggests that they give
bonuses to high performing salespeople, you can relate that to the theory of
Rewards/ Punishment as discussed in the book. Then, explain if you believe if
it is an effective method to motivate employees in that situation.

It is
recommended that you reference your textbook and chapters relating to the above
topics before and after the interview as you write your report. Please note,
merely answering the questions without relating the answers to topics discussed
is not sufficient for this assignment. You need to critique and analyze the
answers and relate those answers to topics discussed in the course.
