Choose one from the deck and address its positives and shortcomings. What would you change in your classroom to administer that test?
b.)Travel back in time and think about an assessment you were given. Describe your feelings about it? How does it resonate with this week’s readings? Knowing the knowledge you have as a future educator, what is one thing that you would change about the assessments you will give?

#4.)Respond to ONE of the following questions:
a.)After reading “Understanding and Selecting Assessment Methods” (Butler & McMunn, 2018), what assessment method would a teacher find the most useful for a presentation? Describe your thought process in creating an assessment to measure the student’s abilities.
b.)Create a graphic a teacher can use to decide the steps in choosing an assessment for a presentation. You can site the chapter or any website used for inspiration.

#5.)Chose ONE of the following questions for a summative assessment
a.)How can unit tests and interim tests could be used formatively. What are the advantages and limitations of each one?
b.) Ask a group of students, about the age you would like to teach, about the kind of feedback they get from teachers after they take a test. Question them about how the feedback affects them.
c.)Using the graphic on page 180 of the book (McMillian ) as an example, create a similar graphic that can further break down (or add details) to the process of creating a summative assessment
d.)Ask a teacher friend about how they prepare and administer their summative assessments. Compare their answers to suggestions contained in the chapter.

#6.) Answer ONE of the following 2 questions
a.) Check in with a teacher friend about state standards-based testing. Ask them how they use the results of these tests to improve their instruction. Ask them to recall situations in which parents did not seem to understand the results of the test very well. Looking back, what could the teacher have done differently to enhance parent understanding? Don’t have a teacher friend? Put yourself in a teacher’s shoes and ask how you would use standards-based testing to improve your instruction.
b. )Observe a class in which students take a standards-based or standardized test. If possible, take a copy of the test administration guidelines with you and determine how closely the teacher follows the directions. What has the teacher done to motivate the students and set a proper environment? Observe the students as they are taking the test. Do they seem motivated and serious? How quickly do they work? Can’t observe a teacher, think about the implications related to not carrying out instructions to the T. How does that affect test courses? Teacher instruction?
