two-parent households, 73% women, racially diverse, and had a median income of
$40,800. Fifty-nine percent recalled that their mothers had sung to them –mostly
lullabies, 30% recalled that their fathers had sung to them, about 30% had taken
music lessons. Sixty-four percent report playing music for their children daily,

sing and play music for their children. Parents who received the CD were more
likely to play classical music for their children than parents who had not received
the CD.
