Textual Analysis (I already had first draft and professor gave some suggestions need to edit)

Topics: For this paper, you will be selecting one of the following articles/essays: “Black Men in Public Spaces” by Brent Staples, “Hot Dogs and Wild Geese” by Firoozah Dumas, “I Want a Wife” by Judy Brady, “Big Boy” by David Sedaris, “Fish Cheeks” by Amy Tan, or “The Plot Against People” by Russell Baker. To access these articles/essays, use the library (the Main Stacks) or search for .pdfs on Google. For online sources, be careful to avoid using websites that include analysis or discussion of your selected piece; truly, only look for the article/essay itself to begin with. Once you select your article/essay, read through it closely and slowly. See if you can identify the literary and rhetorical devices/elements/strategies/techniques that are applied by the author. See if you can identify a particular literary criticism being applied. Then, contemplate and answer the following question in your essay:
How is your article/essay relevant and applicable today? What can it teach us?
