self-assessment of leadership

1. My Leadership Action Plan 60%
Complete a self-assessment of your own leadership practices and behaviours. Do this in the context of a reflective journal, based on class discussions, topics, readings, feedback and lessons learned. Focus particularly on your results from the 360° feedback you received from the Leadership Practices Inventory and the report you received on DISC from Dr Light. Other sessions on Innovation/Design Thinking, Change Management etc will help you revisit previously held ideas or behaviours. No more than 1500 words are expected. The primary focus of the reflective journal is to help you create your own “road map” of actions, behavioural changes, communications styles and plans to help you become more effective and enduring leader, in whatever settings you wish to engage. You may find that as you reflect over the course of the Summer School programme, that your goals, priorities and action may well have changed. You should not be concerned about this. Consider the results of DISC so you can help shape the way you work with others in the future.
There are a number of things you should consider in preparing this Action Plan:
1. You should draw on some of the scholarly literature on leadership and management provided during the week and in your readings.
Suggested Reading List:

2. Consider the leadership and managerial exercises we will use, the lectures and the coaching feedback.
3. When considering the behaviours and practices you believe you should focus on, get validation from your fellow students and other work mentors, colleagues or your own “kitchen cabinet”.
