Photo Essay:The final research project is in the form of a photo essay much like you see in two-column magazine articles.
The photo essay should show in-depth research that frames a specific dance topic.The essay can focus on a genre or a particular practitioner (with approval by professor) but must be situated historically and culturally and make critical and scholarly connections between the dance topic and its history and contribution to the culture in which it appears.
Photo Essay should follow scholarly protocols with information fully cited with in-text citations.
Photo Essay uses a two-column format used in a magazine format.
Photo Essay requires a bibliography with a minimum of 4 sourcesin MLA or APA style.
Photo Essay requires a 1000-word countand there is no penalty for going over.
Photo Essay requires a minimum of 10 varied imagesrelated to the subject matter. Each image must relate to the accompanying text that creates a historical framework with in-text citations for the images. You do not have to re-cite your images in the bibliography.
Photo Essay has a video hyperlink embeddedat the end of the essay that is an authentic representation of the dance genre.
