To familiarize everyone with case studies (the final assignment next week is a case study), we are going to practice with an older case study, looking at growth options for an Indian CRO. If this is your first time looking at a case study, I would suggest looking through some of the resources listed for the week 12 assignment (look under Content -> Assignments for Week 12 Case Study).
For this discussion please read the Biocon case study in this week’s readings and write your brief (<500 words) thoughts on the following questions:
What are the advantages and disadvantages of starting and operating a pharmaceutical firm in India?
Is the Indian CRO market attractive?
What is the best way for Biocon India Group to expand, and what factors should it consider?
You are welcome to use additional references for the discussion this week, but please note that for the written case study next week you should focus on the material included in the case study and exhibits and on the application of ideas from the class, and you do not need to use references beyond the case study.
