Remember that all the Assignments in this course are building toward the Final Project, an advocacy paper based on the contemporary family issue you chose to write about in the Week 4 Blog and Week 5, 6, and 7 Assignments. If you feel like you need to change your chosen contemporary family issue, contact your Instructor. Note: While you will revisit your work from earlier weeks, your writing for this Assignment should be new. If you wish to reuse any of your earlier work, contact the Instructor
Take time to add details to the advocacy plan you introduced in the Week 7 Assignment. Consider organizations you could partner with for this project and how the advocacy will create positive social change.
Write a 6-pa ge paper:
Introduce the contemporary family issue, defining key terms and sharing relevant background.
Based on what you have learned about this issue, public attitudes toward it, laws and policies related to it, and coverage in the media, identify a subtopic, or narrowed focus, of the contemporary family issue that needs advocacy.
Justify why this subtopic, or narrowed focus, requires advocacy.
Describe your plan for change related to this subtopic, or narrowed focus, by explaining what you will do, deliver, or produce to advocate on behalf of families affected by the issue. Justify why this plan is feasible and ethical.
Identify at least one (1) organization you could partner with as part of this advocacy in order to affect change. Justify why this organization is an appropriate choice.
Explain how advocating for this subtopic, or narrowed focus, related to the contemporary family issue can create greater social change and support general health and well-being.
Refer to—and properly cite—sources to support your ideas throughout this Assignment.
