For this paper, you will reflect on yourself as a helper, including your qualities, identities, biases, and motivations that may affect helping relationships. Attached you will find a list of prompts to get you thinking. We want this paper to be maximally relevant and useful to you and your future clients. You may find that you can’t thoroughly answer all these questions within the word limit; if that is the case choose the questions that are the most challenging for you to address. We are not looking for perfect answers – we are looking for courageous, humble, reflective, curious effort and exploration.
We recommend you spend some time reflecting on all questions and creating an outline of your thoughts before you start writing. The paper should be organized, thoughtful, and concise. You do not have to re- write any of the prompts and are encouraged to organize your paper about what you’d like to say rather than just answering the questions one at a time. 1000-1500 words is not a lot of words – try to make them count!
